Min, K.S., Park, S.T. The effects of Home-based Exercise Rehabilitation in Patients with Partial Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury. Exercise Science, 14(2): 133-142, 2005. This purpose of this study is to examine the effects of 8 weeks home-based exercise rehabilitation in patient with partial anterior cruciate ligament injury. 16 patients diagnosed as having partial ruptures of the anterior cruciate ligament. The subjects were divided into 2 groups: Home-based Exercise Group(HEG, n=8) and Non-Exercise Group(NEG, n=8). HEG was educated exercise rehabilitation training program at hospital and participated in home exercise and private health center for 8 weeks. Test consist of functional capacity of ligament stability, Cybex evaluation of muscle strength, Lysholm knee scoring. The results are as follows:Ligament stability tested by utilizing arthrometer KT-2000 has significantly improved in HEG. But ligament stability was deteriorated in NEG. In the muscle strength test with isokinetic equipment, the extensor in HEG at the angular velocity of 180°/sec increased significantly. The flexor at the angular velocity of 60°/sec increased significantly in HEG but decreased significantly in NEG. At the angular velocity of 180°/sec, the flexor increased significantly in HEG. But it decreased significantly in NEG. Lysholm scores was increased significantly in HEG and NEG. In conclusion, the present results clearly show that 8 weeks homed-based exercise rehabilitation program improved a ligament stability, thigh circumference, muscle strength, Lysholm score. |
