Effects of Swimming and resistance training on serum lipid and EPO in male college students
ABSTRACT
Yeo, N.H. Kang, S.H. Effects of Swimming and resistance training on serum lipid and EPO in male college students. Exercise Science. 15(4): 291-300, 2006. The purpose of this study investigated the influence of male students(year= 22.04±2.20) changes of serum lipid and erythropoietin. Subjects were divided into control group(N=8), muscle resistance group(N=8), swimming group(N=8). They do exercise which muscle resistance and swimming for 12weeks, 3day per week, 60min a day. Intensity continued 80% of 1RM in muscle resistance and 60~80%HRR in swimming. Blood sample test done enzymatic hydrolysis, radioimmunoassay and impedance. The results are as follows.HDL level increased significantly(p<.01). But TG and Glucose decreased significantly(p<.01). Also EPO level decreased but Hb increased significantly. Therefore muscle resistance and swimming was effected positive in serum lipid. Level of EPO decreased in regular but increased level of Hb was effected side of oxygen availability.
Key words: Resistance training, Serum lipid, EPO, Hb
