The responses of physiological factors during graded maximal exercise(GXT) according to ACE gene polymorphism under various altitude hypobaric hypoxia (VAHH)
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to observe the difference of gene factor via physiological responses according to the ACE genotype after the GXT under VAHH. 12 healthy college aged-men(II type 6, DD type 6 :24.08±1.98yrs, 177.13±4.22㎝, 75.85±8.31㎏, 15.89 ±2.36%fat) done GXT using bicycle ergometer in four different Hypobaric Hypoxic Chamber(100m, 1,300m, 1,800m and 2,650m). For each trial, blood samples were taken at pre-exercise, immediately post-exercise, 30min after exercise and 60 min after exercise. All samples were corrected for plasma volume changes and compared to pre-exercise except Hct. For the analysis of the differences between groups, two-way repeated measure ANOVA was used. The results are summarized as the follows. 1. VO2max, exercise duration, SaO2, reticulocyte, red blood cells, Hct, Hb, EPO and aldosterone showed no significant difference according to ACE gene polymorphism. 2. The interaction effect between types and time showed a signigicant difference in RBC, Hct, and Hb under 2,650m(p<.025, p<.013, p<.017). 3. The interaction difference in aldosterone under 1,800m(p<.025). 4. ACE showed significant difference under 1,300m, 1,800m and 2,650m, especially DD type was higher than II type. To conclude II type keeps the circulation of blood by aldosterone secretion, but DD type keeps the circulation of blood by ACE secretion. Such RAA system functional difference as showed remarkably under 2,650m.
Key words: ACE, gene polymorphism, EPO, hypoxia
