ABSTRACT |
The purpose of this study was to clarify the changes of the VAS(visual analogue pain rating scales) and expression of blood biomarkers associated with skeletal-muscular damage(CPK; creatine phosphokinase, LDH; latate dehydrogenase, COMP; cartilage oligomeric matrix protein) at before and after 10km running on cement road in males. Twenty marathoner participated in this study as subjects and they were composed in two group; i) Young group(YG, 24.60±3.13yrs), ii) Middle group(MG, 44.30±2.83yrs). The target heart rate(70%) for this study were calculated maximal exercise test. The auto-analyzer(ADIVA1650, Bayer, USA) were used to analyze blood CPK and LDH concentration, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(AnaMar Medical, Gotenborg, Sweden) based on two monoclonal antibody were used to analyze blood COMP concentration.
The VAS, blood CPK and LDH concentration were significantly increased after running compared to before in both groups whereas there were no significant differences between groups. The blood COMP concentration were also were significantly increased after running compared to before in both group. The blood COMP concentration after running were significantly higher in MG compared to YG.
The results of this study suggest that running may induce skeletal-muscular damage in general but skeletal system can be affected more with ageing. |
